The New Zealand-based engineering consultancy says the managing director of its Australian operations, Greg Lowe, will take over as chief executive from April 1.
Lowe will be based in Melbourne before move to the group headquarters in Auckland next year.
The Beca Group employs more than 2,500 people in the Asia-Pacific region, with main hubs in New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.
Outgoing chief executive Keith Reynolds left Beca last October for personal reasons and moved home to Sydney with his family.
Reynolds, who previously worked at a British engineering consultancy, was Beca's first outside chief executive.
In the interim, the company has been helmed by chairman Richard Aitken, who has occupied the chief executive role for 15 of his 40 years with Beca.
Aitken welcomed the change in leadership, saying it would help drive the company's future success in New Zealand and overseas.
"Greg brings considerable experience in the Australasian consulting engineering sector to this role, as well as a distinguished track record in project delivery and business growth", he said.
Lowe said he has been proud to be associated with Beca and its achievements.
"I now look forward to playing a larger role in building partnerships within the industry, and helping take the best of New Zealand to the world."
Like Reynolds before him, Lowe has a background in engineering. He spent his early career in the Navy as a Commander and director of marine engineering.
Lowe was also made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 1998, and is a Fellow of the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand.

Sale St for your shout Greg, cheers!
